Life of a Working Mom

Now that I am back to work, I have began slacking off on my website updates.  I go to work and then return to the house and try to spend every minute with the girls.  Pressly is struggling with the lack of attention in the evening especially since we are both at work during the day.  She is having some “baby moment” like wanting to play with the baby toys, get in the crib, and play with the bouncy chair.  Most of the time she is okay about it all though.  She is still talking up a storm and can count to five most times and get to “D” by herself on the alphabet.  Then through prompting we can get to “G”.  She can sing part of “Who Built the Ark” the chorus part, but she is a bit confused on the name since she sings “Nana, Nana” instead of “Noah, Noah”.  But I think alot of my mom too. Her favorite thing to do to get our attention is try to go behind the living room chair and coach.

Paedyn is a happy smiley girl all of the time.  The only exception would be when she has overslept and needs to eat or is wet.  She coos and girgles a talks like she thinks she is a big girl.  She watches Pressly’s every move and loves to get kisses from the family.  She has had her first shots and now weighs 11 pounds almost.  This is hopefully a sign that she does not have kidney issues like Pressly, but we should hear back on the ultrasounds we had last Monday some time this coming week.

Trey has been extremely busy with our newest “project”.  We are trying to get all aspects started so that we can have the best end result.  There has been alot of work on all of our parts and we are just praying for God to lead us the right direction.

In other news,  Mam-maw (my mom’s mom) fell this last Thursday and broke her hip.  She had surgery yesterday and appears to be doing good.  Hopefully we can make a trip in the near future and get to visit her.  She needs to meet Miss Paedyn.

One Week Down

Paedyn is now 1 week old! She is doing really well. The doctor said she looks a little yellow (Jaundice) but that it should clear up if we can get in front of a window and get some sun on her skin over the next few weeks. It is very common and he was not worried. She is already taking about 4 oz per feeding; she is such a good eater! She is beginning to stay awake for longer periods throughout the day and is sleeping fairly at night for a 7 day old. Pressly knows who her sister is and will even occasionally give her a kiss!

Desirae has me working on several projects while I am home; I have been doing some small renovations in the utility room where I have added shelves in the closet and am looking into adding a cabinet above the washer and dryer. I also added a big florescent light strip in the garage and a new switch that turns the lights on when it senses movement in the garage. Now, when I walk in the garage, the light turns automatically! It is way cool — Thanks for the Lowes gift certificate Aunt Nenny and Uncle Bob! In the house, Desirae has me flipping the formal dining room and the formal living room. We want a bigger area for the girls to play and are turning the formal living room into a play room for a while; and the formal dining room will become a sitting/piano room. We never used a dining room anyway, and the table that was in there is now in the kitchen and looks good and serves more people too!

I will try to get new pictures uploaded for you soon! I am considering removing the “Pea Patch” section, since the newest photos for the site are always shown at the top of the page. I hope you noticed that they change all the time!
